Hi, I’m Dr. Kelly Shea.
I am a clinical psychologist licensed in Connecticut and Virginia who has worked in various hospitals, clinics and private practices over the past 8+ years. I have lived in various states over my lifetime, including during completion of my BS in Psychology at the University of Central Florida, and my masters and doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Hartford, where I first began my advanced clinical training. These experiences, and an ongoing focus on cultural awareness and affirmation within my training and research, have expanded my perspectives and what I bring to the therapy space. I’m passionate about creating a space where people feel understood, accepted, and empowered to grow.
When working with children and teens, I focus on helping them build confidence, manage emotions, and strengthen relationships at home and school. I also work closely with parents and caregivers, offering guidance and tools to support their child’s emotional and developmental needs in practical, compassionate ways.
I’m equally dedicated to providing affirming therapy for LGBTQIA+ individuals of all ages. My practice is a welcoming space to explore identity, relationships, and self-acceptance. Whether you’re coming out, navigating family dynamics, or simply seeking a therapist who “gets it,” I strive to offer genuine understanding and support.
My goal is to help each person—and each family—develop resilience, connection, and a stronger sense of self.
